¹ the real thing, not the buzzword

² The Asian continent and its people have often been seen through a foreign eye – painted as “the other” to a Western audience. Extending beyond the Far East, FAR–NEAR features voices from Japan to Iran and everywhere in between.
Collaborators of the book series include Tuan Andrew Nguyen, Takashi Homma, Trinh T. Minh-Ha, Slavs and Tatars, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Taysir Batniji, Nick Sethi, Fatima Al Qadiri, among many more.
In addition to the physical and online publication, FAR-NEAR also hosts talks, exhibitions, film screenings, workshops, roundtables, small gatherings and an archive of Asian artist books at FAR-NEAR Studio Hours in Chinatown, Manhattan.
